Our blog all about the ingredients of Silky Peach was such a success we realized we needed to do one for Vibrant Third! This cream can help with so many things during menopause, and in many other aspects of the body - with over 400 uses this is no surprise! This blog is all about what goes in our cream to make it EXTRA special. Hint, it's not just the progesterone!
How Do I Use Vibrant Third?
Vibrant Third progesterone has 25mg of progesterone per pump. You can apply one pump daily to thin areas of the skin (inner arms, behind the knee, around the ankles). Progesterone is absorbed into the blood stream where it hitches a ride on a red blood cell and is spread around to all the places in the body where it is needed. Avoid applying on fatty tissue as the hormone will just sit there in the fat cells and not get to where it's needed. You can adjust your use as fits your body. Some women need progesterone every day, others every other day.
Whilst many people think that the star of our creams is the bioidentical hormone in them (and it is!), we do actually spend a lot of time making sure that we don't put any unnecessary junk in our products, and the things we DO put in are full of goodness and have an actual purpose!
The Ingredient List
Bacopa Monnieri Extract: Considered a powerful adaptogen that helps the body handle stress by normalizing bodily processes. This plant can also enhance learning capacity. Stress and brain function are closely linked, so this was added to help boost brain power and minimize brain fog.
Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract: Extracts of the R. Rosea root were found to contain powerful adaptogens helpful in managing the stress response and can also help skin stay strong and supple. In conjunction with progesterone, which has also been found helpful in skin care for women as we age, this can help keep wrinkles at bay.
Marula Seed Oil: Rich in antioxidants and oleic acid, both of which are important for healthy skin, this lesser known seed oil is a welcome addition to V3. Plus, it has antimicrobial action that can be helpful for damaged skin.
Coconut Fruit Extract: This has emollient, rehydrating and elasticizing properties, thus preventing wrinkle formation. The fatty acids strengthen the immune system and protect against viral, bacterial and fungal infections throughout the body - and in the cream. Coconut fruit helps make V3 thick and creamy, and thus, a great creamy feel on the skin.
Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Extract: Emollient, conditioning, and hydrating effects as well as antibacterial properties, moringa helps coconut fruit in providing a rich base for our bestselling Vibrant Third!
Coenzyme Q10: Is an antioxidant so supports healthy skin and reduces oxidative damage, which is why it is a foundational component in so many anti-aging/beauty creams on the market.
Roman Chamomile Flower Oil: Chamomile has a number of surprising benefits during menopause; the tea is also thought to be beneficial for menopause symptoms. As an oil, it has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that can help with skin irritations, making it good for sensitive skin.
Rosemary Leaf Extract: Rosemary exerts a beneficial relaxing effect on muscles and nerves, improves skin circulation, thus acts positively on congestion, swelling and cellulite. It also has antimicrobial activity and so can be used for acne and other skin infections. It can also be used against hair loss, since it promotes blood circulation and consequently hair growth.
Lactobacillus/Acerola Cherry Ferment: This good bacteria a.k.a., probiotic, is high in vitamin C and polyphenols so good for antioxidant effects and reduction of oxidative damage. Vitamin C is essential for collagen formation. Its mineral content is good for remineralization of skin particularly after exposure to stress such as injury or too much sun.
Cucumber Peel Extract: Contains Vitamin C and beta carotene, plus quercetin, apigenin, luteolin and kaempferol which are antioxidant flavonoids. Functions as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory agent, and skin-conditioning agent - more than just a great salad addition then!
What About The Progesterone?
The short answer is that our progesterone comes from wild yam.
The long answer is that the Progesterone in the Vibrant Third is manufactured to have the exact same chemical structure as the progesterone molecule found in the body which makes it what is called "bio-identical". Progesterone has a chemical structure of C21H30O2. This means 21 carbon atoms, 30 hydrogen atoms, and 2 oxygen atoms. There is a compound in soy and wild yam called diosgenin which has the chemical structure C27H42O3. This means 27 carbon atoms, 42 hydrogen atoms and 3 oxygen atoms. Chemists will take the diosgenin compound, remove 6 carbon atoms and 12 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom to create the compound progesterone. The progesterone compound is added to a cream so it can be absorbed through the skin. Our manufacturing partner uses progesterone derived from diosgenin found in wild yam.
