2024 Round Up
01/28/2025

Worried you might have missed something great? Check out some highlights from 2024 and don't miss any of the latest Menopause or Parlor Games News!

The Seedy Side of Seed Oils

There's a lot of chatter out there about seed oils these days - but when it comes to skincare, the pseudoscience is a little seedy... (Sorry!). But really - it is - seed oils in skincare come with a plethora of benefits, just don't fry it up before you put it on!

Estrogen Quotient

Hormone testing can tell you more than the highs and lows - it can also tell you the ratios - which make a difference when it comes to balance and cancer risk. As more women take their menopausal health into their own hands, learning about ratios can put you at the top of the class.

Dr. Robyn on Progesterone

Miracle 'cures' not working for you? We love a good sauna over here (well, maybe not our team in Arizona...) but we also know that hormones are often the root cause of ongoing perimenopause and menopause symptoms - but, which hormones? Well, Dr. Robyn has you covered with her take on the unicorn of hormones - progesterone!

Herpes

Did you know that estimates for HSV 1 are over 60%, and for HSV 2 are around 16%? From cold sore cures to handling outbreaks - this blog has you covered on all things HSV!

SSS Highlights

Our fave post came from a customer who had been putting V3 where Silky Peach should have gone (not the first time we've heard this - given we're all suffering from some degree of brain fog!). After reassuring her she would be just fine, but to switch to applying her Silky Peach to her peach, and V3 to her thin skin, she can hopefully get some relief from the brain fog that caused the issue in the first place!

Customer Love

"I'm 66, a RN, work in a NH. Have a 97 yr old resident who has severe vaginal atrophy (urethra is inside her vagina now). She would cry because it hurt so bad she couldn't sleep. 6 mo ago I recommended these products to her daughter prior to a gyno appointment. Gyn said it was worth a try. Daughter bought products for this resident. We apply peachy cream to her labia 2 x day. The change in this lady is phenomenal! She states she has no pain! Gyn said she is going to recommend these products to all her post menopausal patients of any age!"

Libi-DON't

One of the most asked questions in our Ask Dr Robyn segment (Wednesdays at 3pm PST/6pm EST in SSS) is about boosting libido. From whether ReBounce DHEA would help, to what women can do to boost libido, this is a 'hot' topic amongst older women who are wondering where the heck their sex drive went. We wrote about all things libido - from vaginal pain to brain chemistry, to help better understand the mechanisms of libido.

Estrogen Cosmeceuticals

After menopause, estrogen levels drop significantly, leading to various skin changes like thinning, wrinkles, dryness, and slower healing. What does this mean? Well, as estrogen declines, so does collagen, and with it the stretchy nature of our skin, as well as the 'mesh' that keeps skin looking and feeling soft and supple. The fix might be as simple as supporting our estrogen receptors... (and Silky Peach)!

Menopause Affects Your Mood (And other things women have known for... centuries)

Well.... duh? But, on a more serious note, women often are maligned when it comes to mental health support in menopause - and science backs this up. This survey of 139 UK menopause specialists (71% in primary care, 29% in secondary care) revealed significant gaps in mental health support for menopausal women. While 65% of clinicians offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for mood symptoms, 99% acknowledged that its provision is inadequate. A large portion (43%) felt over half their patients with mood issues would benefit from psychological support, yet 80% lack access to a dedicated mental health practitioner.
